What ADRIA Means to Me

ADRIA, for me, means encouragement. It means being fearless. It means trust.

Back in 2017, ADRIA was founded with a very simple but powerful dream: to create something from ourselves, for ourselves; a jewelry brand built on trust, craftsmanship, and meaning. Not as a continuation of something already built, but as a conscious decision to step into a different path, with our own language, our own materials, and our own risks.

We didn’t inherit a business. We didn’t inherit a ready-made structure, a brand, or a roadmap.

What we did inherit , without even realizing it at the time , was perseverance.

ADRIA is Peserverance

I grew up watching my grandmother work endlessly, even on Sundays. What many people don’t know is that she never learned how to write. And yet, in her seventies, she was leading her own artisan store. There was no manual. No formal training. No system waiting for her.

The same was true for us.

I also watched my mother work with that same discipline and sense of responsibility. Back then, I didn’t understand it. Today, more than ever, I do. And I understand it because of ADRIA.

When you love what you do, and when you know there is a team depending on you, something shifts. Work stops feeling heavy. Even a weekend doesn’t feel like a sacrifice. You show up with pride, with purpose, and with that excitement of knowing that what you’re building today might become something meaningful tomorrow.

ADRIA taught me that.

ADRIA is sisterhood

It also became my anchor. My way of staying connected to my sisters. My link to Peru when I wasn’t there.

It’s the invisible thread that kept us close, even when distance tried to stretch us apart, Adria was there.

ADRIA is being fearless

There were moments of fear, many of them. Knocking on doors. Sitting in meetings with suppliers who could easily be working with multinational brands. Walking into those conversations feeling small, but still showing up as if I were a big fish, presenting numbers, ideas, and vision with shaky hands but a determined voice.

I learned that courage isn’t the absence of fear. It’s choosing to move forward anyway.

ADRIA is self-trust

ADRIA made me grow in ways I didn’t expect. It taught me responsibility, resilience, and self-trust. It mirrored back everything I had seen in my family, the hard work, the discipline, the belief that no matter how hard it gets, you keep going.

Because when you know why you’re doing it, nothing truly stops you.

That, for me, is ADRIA.
